Even Homer Simpson Loves Pokemon GO

Pokemon Go is a hit everywhere, even Springfield.
In a one-minute YouTube video published by Fox over the weekend, Homer Simpson takes his kids to the zoo. But as many interesting (and scary) things happen around him and his kids holler to get his attention, he's focused on just one thing: playing Pokemon Go.

The clip is funny, but it also shines a light on how Pokemon Go can be a dangerous distraction as well as an entertaining game. Indeed, since its launch in the US earlier this month, gamers have been walking miles to find Pokemon, going to areas where they shouldn't, quitting their jobs to catch characters, and more.

The game has helped Nintendo double its corporate value and is now officially the most popular mobile video game ever based on daily active users. It's also found a way to get more daily usage than a slew of popular apps, including Tinder.

All that attention made it a prime target for hackers. In addition, criminals have allegedly use Pokemon to locate their victims and lure them into areas where they can attack them.
Regardless, the game's popularity continues to soar as its availability expands across the world. And even though Homer tries to make fun of the whole thing, the reality is, there might be far more like him than not in the Pokemon universe.
